Corgi Model Club 323 - DS 19 Rally Car in Monte-Carlo Trim
The Corgi Model Club represents a carefully curated cross-section of some of the greatest die-cast models ever to come originally out of Corgi's famous Swansea factory.
The Citroen DS19 was first tooled by Corgi at the beginning of 1957 (as Corgi 210) and is notable for being the first ever non-British car in the Corgi range. It was updated in 1960, as Corgi 210S, given a moulded interior, a steering wheel and 'Glidamatic' suspension.
Five years later it was revived yet again, this time in a topical Monte Carlo livery. Available on its own or as part of the 'GS38' gift set, together with a Mini Cooper and a Rover 2000, it was produced for just one year, from 1965 to 1966. The Monte Carlo Rally version was given a pale blue body and a white roof, whereas the earlier Corgi 210S, which had identical tooling, came in red. Both featured the same yellow interior.
